30 Aug Happy Tail for Slade!
Our house was lonely after our last dog died a year and a half ago. Nutmeg was a golden retriever cross rescue dog, and we had such good luck with her that I thought I ought to adopt again. So many great dogs available! It was almost impossible to choose. I visited a 4 Luv of Dog Rescue meet-the-dogs night at a local pet store, and spotted a furry silver grey guy sitting demurely at the side watching me. I thought, “what a gentle, elegant husky!” because I had never heard of a keeshond. It looked pretty different from any dog I was used to.
A few weeks later we were happy to be approved for adoption, and saw many wonderful dogs. But I didn’t forget about that furball from a few weeks before. He was still available! And when we came to visit, the first thing he did was give us a big friendly hug. How could we say no?
Slade has turned out to be a gentle, loving, smart and beautiful dog, quiet and happy to meet everybody, dog or human. We’re lucky to make him a part of our lives. Save a dog! Adopt! He’ll be there for you–because you were there for him.
