20 Dec Happy Tail for Molly (FKA Sophie)!
Molly
We had a friend who was adopting a dog from the 4luvofdog rescue in the fall of 2010. When our friend showed us the picture of the puppy she planned to adopt, we saw Sophie and it was love at first sight!! We needed to make sure that any dog that joined our home would be good with children since we had one grand-daughter and another on the way at the time of Sophie’s adoption. The foster Mom brought her four-year-old along for the home visit, and the little girl carried Sophie into the house up-side-down. When we saw that we knew this was the dog for us, and she joined our family in October 2010. Sophie is black with splotches of white here and there. We re-name her Molasses (Molly for short) and she joined Sugar, our brown and white Shih Tzu and Ginger, our golden colored Lhasa Apso. They jokingly refer to the three of them as the “Spice Girls”. I think if we had known Molly a bit better before we re-named her, we might have named her Licorice because she LOVES to lick. Ginger is a great foot warmer and Sugar loves to hug and snuggle, but Molly just can’t seem to give us enough kisses.
Molly also has an adorable personality. Her favorite thing to do with her humans is to get belly rubs. She will literally lay on her back for an hour or longer if she can find someone to rub her tummy that long. There are also not enough squeaky toys on the planet! She absolutely LOVES playing with squeaky toys! Besides belly rubs and squeaky toys, several times a day Molly tries to coax the other dogs into playing with her and chasing her up and down the half-flight of stairs to the bedrooms. When she does this, she growls at them and kicks her back legs out behind her like she is a bull getting ready to charge, Molly has the one of the funniest growls I’ve ever heard. She sounds like a cat purring really loudly! All it takes is for one of the humans in the house to say “Go get her” and the three dogs chase each other until they are exhausted. After that it’s nap time!

We’d like to give a special thanks to 4luvofdog rescue for giving us this very special gift! Molly is by far the sweetest, most affectionate little dog I have ever personally met. She has brought so much joy to our lives, it is hard to imaging what life was like without her.
