21 May Happy Tail for Koannah
It’s been over a year and a half since I adopted my Koannah and she is perfect as always. Growing up I barely knew pitbulls existed. Then I moved to Fargo and met Kish’s dogs Santo and Halas and thought how extraordinarily loving and beautiful-looking they were. I started fostering dogs for Adopt-A-Pet and after four dogs I decided it was time for my own, hoping for a pitbull. I saw Koa on the website and knew when I met her that we were meant for each other. She pummeled into me and smothered me with wiggles and puffs. Since then I can’t go away without missing her.
Last summer I had a disc in my back protruding onto a nerve, causing extreme pain. Every time my back was about to spasm and start really hurting, Koa would start whining and want to be next to me. She let me know it was time to lay down and hold on until I could move again. Now my back is better, but she does the same thing when I’m feeling sick or sad.
My friends always joke that she is so “aggressive” when she is smothering everyone with love and licks. The most pain she has ever caused anyone is smacks on the leg from a very fast-wagging tail. Not all other animals realize she means no harm, until she does the “butt on fire” move to try to play. I love her intensity about life and her constant affection. I can’t thank 4 Luv of Dog enough for bringing her to me. The people in your rescue are saints for what they do. Koa would also like to send out many, many, many licks and tail-whips!
