02 Dec Happy Tail for Echo
We added the newest member of our furry family on Friday November 4th. His name is Echo and he is an Australian Shepard/Blue Heeler puppy that we adopted from 4 Luv of Dog Rescue and our lives have been better since that day. Echo is an extra special puppy as he was born blind, but he has not let this stop him being a normal puppy. I have always thought that things happen for a reason and the string of events leading up to us adopting Echo was one more thing to prove this to me. We had talked about looking for another dog, it was close to our daughter’s 8th birthday, we saw a news segment about a blind dog, and all these things came together with us adopting Echo.
We do have two other dogs, Darby and Dixie (big sisters for Echo) and they have truly enjoyed having him around and showing him the ropes. Echo has learned so much in his short time with us and we are amazed with how smart he is and how he manages to get around despite his blindness. He has now mastered going both up and down the stairs and it is so great to see him running with the other dogs and enjoying his new home.
We have also found that adopting a special needs puppy has also helped us teach our daughter that everyone needs a loving home but that some do need a little special attention. And, our daughter Taylor has taken that role and considers Echo her puppy.
We want to send a huge thank you out to 4 Luv of Dog Rescue for the great work they do in the community and a special thanks to Echo’s foster mom Susie for rescuing him and giving him a great start to his new life!!
