15 Dec Happy Tail for Burke!
Burke here checking in from my forever home. I’ve been home about a year and a half now and I’m loving life. My tail wags from the moment I wake up until I’m too tired to wag at night. Each day my family sees more and more of my stubborn but oh-so-loveable personality. I really have won them over! My toy box is full of fun stuff. I get the run of the house all day when my family leaves for work and it’s been that way from day one. I can nap in the sun, on the couch, you name it.
I have two human siblings who are great for getting me treats. I love going for walks with my parents and also car rides. My favorite is when we hit a drive-through, because I get treats! Did I mention I like treats? I’ll do most anything for treats. I’ve learned new tricks like shake (with both paws), stay, circle, and speak, although I’m not a fan of barking. Dad & I are still working on my hide and seek skills around the house, but I’m getting better at it. I’ve even learned the hand signals for all my tricks. Mom & Dad say it has something to do with communication if my hearing ever gets bad when I’m older. But don’t worry about me, I can hear the frig open a mile away! I love everyone we meet on walks and I get along with the neighborhood dogs. Even vet visits are fun! I do get grumpy at night when I want to go to bed, but who doesn’t? If someone bothers me when I’m tired, I grumble a bit, my family laughs, covers me with my blanket and lets me nap. They say it’s part of my “personality” coming out and I fit right in, so I think that’s a good thing.
Thank you 4 Luv of Dog for the awesome foster home and for finding me my forever home!
