Puppies generally need the following veterinary care after their adoption:
8 Weeks: Distemper/Parvo & Bordetella Vaccinations. 4 Luv of Dog Rescue completes these vaccinations before adoption.
12 Weeks: Distemper/Parvo Vaccination completed at the veterinarian of adopter's choice.
16 Weeks: Distemper/Parvo & Rabies Vaccinations completed at the veterinarian of adopter's choice.
6 Months: Spay/Neuter surgery.  **
Yearly thereafter: All dogs need yearly wellness exams performed by a veterinarian as well as booster vaccinations.
**Spay/Neuter surgeries cost between $200-$400 for a neuter surgery and $400-$600 for a spay surgery in the FM Area. Wellness visits can run from $75 to $150 for each visit. If you are thinking of adopting a puppy, it's a good idea to research these costs before adopting by calling the veterinarian of your choice.

** At the time of his wellness exam only one testicle was descended. It should be monitored by his vet and if it is not descended by the time of his neuter he will require cryptorchid surgery to remove it from the abdomen or inguinal area. This will add $100-$200 to the cost of the neuter depending on the vet.

Carne Asada is grilling up love and snuggles!

Foster Home Feedback

2/18/2025 Foster Feedback: Carne Asada is a dream pup.  He has great manners, and his favorite pastime is snuggling on the couch.  He is a VERY LOW energy puppy who enjoys playing with others but is content to lounge in the sun and share a blanket with his foster brother and sisters.  Housebreaking is going very well for Carne, and he does a good job keeping his kennel clean at night and during the day when we are at work.  Carne Asada likes other dogs and would do great in a home with friends but would equally enjoy being the center of attention.

2/4/2025 Foster Feedback: This beefy little guy is very happy and content to spend his time lounging on a nice blanket or snuggling in for a cozy evening.  Carne Asada is very mellow for a pup and does great with other dogs of all sizes and energy levels.  He is a healthy eater and will likely be a larger dog when grown. Carne is inquisitive and likes to explore his surroundings but doesn't wander too far from a good belly rub.
