**   Afton has been exposed to Parvovirus, but did not test positive. Because there is a chance she may have the virus, Afton cannot be exposed to other puppies for 3 months. Caution should be taken with exposing her to adult healthy dogs too, but the risk of an adult healthy dog contracting Parvo is minimal. Absolutely no dog parks, human parks, puppy school or pet stores for at least 3 months (ends 1/20/25)

Foster Home Feedback

11/03/2024 Foster Feedback:  Afton is a typical puppy - adorable, snuggly, curious, playful, sweet and smart!  She is currently about 10 weeks old and 15 pounds, but growing fast!  She has the cutest little spots on her belly and when she feels most comfortable, she will be happy to show you in exchange for belly rubs!  Afton was very patient with her first nail trim and wasn't phased by the nail clipper at all because she was getting snuggles from one of her favorite people!  When she is excited to see her foster parents, not only does her tail wag like crazy, her whole body wags!  How can we not be super excited, too?!?!  She is learning what are acceptable toys to chew on so it's best not to leave things on the floor that she shouldn't play with or chew on.  If she happens to have something she shouldn't, she is easily redirected with one of her many favorite toys.  Right now, her world is all about playtime and exploring.  She loves being outside and exploring the yard.  She is great about taking care of her business when outside, but at her age, there are still some accidents inside.  Most of the time she goes on a potty pad, but occasionally just can't make it.  It usually happens if she has just been playing hard and her foster parents don't realize she should go out after those intense play sessions.  Afton plays hard and then sleeps hard - puppies need their rest to be ready for more play.  She is learning to be respectful of the elder dogs in the house. We think she will pick up commands quickly once she starts training.  Afton goes in her crate easily and is usually content to rest in there.  She will sometimes whine or bark initially but then realizes it is just time for a nap.  At night, Afton she would love to snuggle up close to you in bed, but usually wakes up in the middle of the night right now.  In the crate, she usually sleeps through the night but has another puppy friend that she currently shares the crate with to comfort her.
