Foster Guidelines

  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Everyone in the applicant’s household must be in favor of fostering a dog.
  • If renting, the applicant’s landlord must give permission for the applicant to have a dog. Some rental offices require that the dog be a certain size or breed.
  • All pets the applicant currently has must be up-to-date on their vaccinations and spayed/neutered.
  • Applicants must agree to a home visit, in which a volunteer will come to the applicant’s home to conduct part of the interview and make sure the home is a good fit for the dog. This is to benefit the adopter and the rescue; some dogs are very high energy and require a lot of space. We want to make sure the dog you are connected with is appropriate for you.
  • If you live outside the Fargo-Moorhead area, we may be able to conduct a virtual video visit to fulfill this step of your application. However, applications outside our area of operation may still be denied due to distance.
