21 May Happy Tail for Duke
I adopted Duke in June of 2008 and it was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. Duke has been an awesome addition to my house. When I started to look for a dog I wanted a unique dog and wasn’t looking for a black dog that was part Lab or a male. I decided to meet him anyway and I instantly fell in love with him. Everyone who meets him loves him and thinks he is one of the most well behaved and polite dogs they have ever seen. He has also proved to be an interesting character and not a day goes by that I don’t laugh at him. He has made an awesome running and rollerblading partner and is also quite the hunter. This last summer he caught a bird in the backyard and brought it in the house for us. When we told him to drop what he had in his mouth out came a live but stunned bird. He has also learned directions so when we are rollerblading we won’t trip over each other.
Duke got a sister in July this year. He wasn’t sure exactly what to think of her at first but he now loves her very much and is very protective of her. Duke is a perfect testament as to why someone should not overlook the black dogs in shelters becasue if you do you may be passing on the perfect dog for you. Thank you Kish, Sam his foster mom, and all of the 4 Luv of Dog volunteers for rescuing Duke and for giving all the other dogs out there another chance at having the life they deserve.
