05 Jun Happy Tail for Bruno!
Bruno (fka: Nino) was rescued from a high kill shelter in Oklahoma and was diagnosed with Aortic Stenosis which is the narrowing of the area above his aorta. This is a congenital condition that he was born with but required him to be on restricted exercise.
Bruno found his forever home and they provided an update:
As of the last EKG and Ultrasound Wednesday, there is NO sign of any heart or ventricle issues in Bruno. The vet was astonished and he even said “that made my day”. All his numbers, tissue thickness and clearance in his chambers and aorta were within normal parameters. We are stepping him off his meds as per the vet’s recommendation.
He is 76 lbs and still a bit puppy like in his love of people, children, cats, dogs, rabbits and birds – he loves them all. He is calming down very well and training is going well albeit a little slow with keeping him from hopping up on people. He heels well, sits, holds, goes down and can find his specific toy(s) by name.
I have no doubt that the love of all our neighborhood kids, kids at school and adults have helped his heart heal, but I am absolutely sure that you two were very instrumental in giving him not only a chance at life to begin with, but lots of love, a high quality of life and attention in his very formative months.
Thank you so very much for having the ability to foster. It changes more lives than the pet – it changes an entire community. Our whole neighborhood and most of MSUM knows and loves Bruno. Everywhere we go people comment on him and pet him. That changes the world into a better place for everyone.
Thank you for being those people.
